Join us in daily prayer for the Romania mission.

Romania Mission, Day 4

Wednesday, September 24, 2014
Location: Rehearsal at Stupini Seminary. 1st concert in Sinaia this evening.

Scripture and Meditation:
I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one – I in them and You in me – so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that You sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me (John 17:22, 23).

“Lord, thank You for the team you have put together for the Romania mission and for the talents you have given each one. Together, we are Your servants desiring to accomplish Your will. Unite the chorus as we come together from our home countries. As we "show up" to serve you, we plead for Your Spirit to "show up" and bless the outcome. All the glory belongs to You. Amen.”

Today’s Prayer Emphasis:
Unity of voice and spirit for our combined men’s chorus
Wisdom for the staff as they continue to work out details and challenges

Romania Mission Prayer for Day 3

First supper in Romania, 9/22 - Nathanael Martin photo
We invite you to join OAMC members in prayer over the Mission in Romania.

As OAMC members and family arrive and begin preparation for traveling in-country, may they be blessed. Today rehearsals begin with all the singers from various parts of the globe, as friends reunite and make new friends.

Romania Mission, Day 3
Tuesday, September 23, 2014
Location: Rehearsal at Stupini Seminary

Scripture and Meditation:
A man who has friends must himself be friendly, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24, NKJV).
Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. (Romans 12:10, NIV).

Today, you are making friends for eternity. Ask God to give you a prayer partner among the friends you are making in the chorus and staff. Be on the lookout for those who are alone and help them connect. Be the kind of friend your friends need! “Father God, help me put others first and choose friends that will draw me closer to You and let me be the kind of friend who reflects Your character. Amen.”

Today’s Prayer Challenge:
Recovery from jet lag
Blending of choruses and voices
Protection from sickness

Singers/staff for prayer:
Those from Ukraine
Pray for those with last names beginning A through F

Prayer focus, Day 2 - Monday, Sept. 22

Romania Mission, Day 2
Monday, September 22, 2014
The Romania Mission has begun! Arrive Bucuresti, travel to Stupini Seminary

Scripture and Meditation:
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! (Isaiah 26:3 NLT). “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.”

You have arrived! No matter what problems you may have encountered in your travels, God brought you safely here. Throughout the Romanian Mission, keep your thoughts “fixed” upon Jesus and trust that He will make all things work together for good. Today as you rehearse, watch God unify us into one grand chorus!  You can help make it happen.

Today’s Prayer Emphasis:
Our conductors, David Wyman (USA), Alin Apostol (Romania), Mokale Koapeng (SA), Lev Vertylo (Ukraine).
Working out countless details

Pray for safe travel as OAMC members depart on Sept. 21

Most of OAMC's members are departing for Romania on Sunday, Sept. 21.

Throughout the mission, we're inviting you to join us in prayer for this mission.

OAMC's prayer team leaders, Paul and Corleen Johnson, and Ray and Penny Ammon, have prepared a prayer guide for every day of the mission, suggesting what to pray for that day.

Our plan is to post daily entry's from the prayer journal to this blog. Here's today's prayer journal.

Pray for the safety of OAMC members
Romania Mission, Day 1

Sunday, September 21, 2014

Location: Travel to Romania

Scripture and Meditation:

Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast (Psalm 139:7-10, NIV).

From wherever you may be traveling to participate in the Romania Mission, across land or sea, God’s presence is guiding you to be where He needs you. Watch for opportunities to be a positive influence for God with other passengers, the flight crew, etc. Encourage and help lagging travel companions. Pray and watch God work!

Today’s Prayer Challenge:

Safety as we travel from USA, Romania, Ukraine, South Africa, etc.

Logistics preparation

Adaptability for every situation

Singers/staff for prayer:

The whole amazing, hard working, praying, planning team! What a team!

The OAMC advance team arrived safely in Romania earlier this week. Let's thank the Lord for their safe travels!

They've been taking care of some  arrangements for concerts and other visits throughout the western region of the country.

Most of OAMC's members are departing from Portland or other western airports on Sunday, Sept. 21.

We'll be sharing photos of some of our members throughout the mission. Here are a few shots by Ralph Stathem, OAMC's photographer, for the first few days.

Ukraine Mission Diverted, OAMC returns to Romania

When conflict arose in Ukraine in February and quickly escalated, OAMC's plans for a mission to Ukraine were dashed.

Now, through a series of miracles and lots of planning and hard work, OAMC will be returning for a Mission to Romania.

In 2009, OAMC sang in parts of eastern Romania. Since then OAMC has become better known due to the rebroadcasting of OAMC's 2009 concert over Speranta TV, Romania's "Hope Channel."

Singers begin departing for Romania on Sunday, Sept. 21, and return on Oct. 5.

You're invited to follow along here as we bring the Good News to western Romania.
